I have seen and read a lot lately about all those children that can’t focus on one thing or another.  Most have been “diagnosed” with ADD or ADHD (more commonly known as Attention Deficit Disorder or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).  It seems to be a growing thing amongst younger people now-a-days.  I never understood it.  I never had that problem, well, not until recently.

I noticed over the last year or so that less and less was getting accomplished in my daily life and I just couldn’t figure out why.  As I compared this year to last year, I found that I was definitely more productive last year.

So what changed?  Was it the economy?  The new discovery of Web 2.0?  Of Social Media? Actually, no, well, maybe (I’ll come back to this).  The problem:  multitasking. 

The Myth of Multitasking

Every year Thanksgiving comes around and everyone talks about what they are thankful for.  It’ s a time for reflecting.  This year was extremely difficult for a lot of reasons and yet, I find that I am still in a good place and have a lot to be grateful for.

I have a lovely home with a devoted and supporting spouse and several adoring and happy furry children.  They (yes the infamous they have now been identified) keep me warm when the weather gets cold and have a tendency to be snuggly when I’m in a mood and know just what to do to make me laugh.

I have lots of memories of the holidays.  Mom loved cooking and being the social butterfly.  Even after I left we always came to mom’s house.  The smell of roasting turkey, homemade stuffing, and mulled spiced wine will always remind me of home.

Welcome to CreativeAce!  Well, we finally took a second not only to update our web site, but to add a blog.  This is a new fangled thing for us so be patient if something isn’t working correctly.  But we do encourage you to tell us about it if something is broken or incorrect.
