My First Guest Blog Post

Well, I did it. Never knew I could or would, but I did. I finally wrote a post for another blog: Famous Bloggers. I discovered this blog through a couple different sites: Dennis Edell (Personal Direct Sales Marketing Mentor to the New and Struggling) and My Guest Blog (Community of Guests Bloggers).

Now, I think I’m  a very good writer.  I’ve been making my living from my writing for more years than I care to mention   I’m good at what I do and enjoy writing. I can write for a lot of different genres and a wide array of industries. Until this opportunity presented itself, I never thought I could write for another blog that was not “mine” in some way.

Until recently I didn’t know that I would write for another blog that I didn’t own or was paid to write content for. The big “thing” is guest blogging. I like the idea and have asked writer/bloggers to guest on one or more of my blogs. It never occurred to me to Guest Post for another blog. I mean, in order for you to write a post you need to be an expert in that niche, right? Never thought of myself as an expert, but after describing this particular guest posting opportunity to a few people, I realized that I am an expert in a few IT and site design fields.

But I did

After a few encouraging words from friends and clients, I decided to “just do it”. I wrote and fretted over my first guest post for the Famous Blogger Contest (running through March 31st). Did I know what I was talking about? Was the post valid? Am I professional, but personable? I like to think that I am, but you tell me.
