I think it depends on what your landing page is designed for. They don’t t necessarily link back to your website. Most times my clients want a landing page to sell a specific product or run a special and they never link back to their site. Others do use it to direct traffic to their main site. In the cases where the page does link back, I agree wholeheartedly and you only get one chance to make a awesome first impression.

That sound logical but hard to do *sigh* just like everything else on the internet. I’m a bit familiar with landing pages or squeeze pages but so many do them very poorly with like minimal text that says nothing much.

It’s quite hard to implement list building tool to homepage of e-shop. There is lot’s of these pop up forms nowadays that notify new visitors about how they should sing up for newsletter etc. to get discount or something like that. Many visitors ignore these pop up windows completely and some of the visitors might even bounce of from the site.
It would be nice to know what is the best way to get visitor to fill up a form. Is it a pop up notifier, banner or what. And should we use discounts or giveaways or what as incentives. it would be nice to find article these themes.

Hi Gail. Thanks for stopping by.

I’ve never done PPC before. I didn’t realize the depth of a landing page, but it makes sense that the product you are selling would dictate whether you link off to another page or site for the sale. I mainly use the landing page for my clients as a tool to build a list that they can market to.

I love the idea of creating a traffic exchange. That is something I never thought about before. I will make sure to add that to my services “bag.”

Many also call the page you send a pay per click (ppc) ad to or one you are using in a link building campaign a landing page. They can differ from the type you are writing about depending on the intended goal.

While a pure sales page will often only have links related to that purchase and the only link on a lead capture generally captures information, landing pages for ppc are often product pages in an ecommerce store.

We often want to offer multiple products related to the search at different price points or different styles to maximize the odds that the click leads to a sale.

If a search phrase or keyword can refer to multiple subjects you can use a custom landing page to let the visitor choose what they meant and send them to the appropriate product.

Wise Web developers can use a landing page to funnel traffic to multiple sites. When words refer to more than one subject and you only care about one of them, contact someone who sells what you don’t and suggest a traffic exchange. By creating a landing page on each of your sites you can maximize your ROI, send them the traffic you can’t use and receive the traffic from them that they can’t use.
